Expanded Format
The 2024 edition marks a significant expansion, growing from sixteen to twenty-four teams. This decision was made by the FIFA Council on 4 October 2023, reflecting the growing interest and talent in women’s football worldwide.
Exciting Format
The participating nations will compete in a thrilling format:
- The twenty-four teams will be divided into six groups of four.
- The top two teams from each group will advance to the round of 16.
- Additionally, the four best third-placed teams will join them in the knockout stage.
- The tournament will feature quarter-finals, semi-finals, a match for third place, and the highly anticipated final.
